DYNAMIC CHANGES MARK MARQUIS SPAS®’ 2008 PRODUCT
LAUNCH
Oregon spa manufacturer does what few others can
- adds an
abundance of visual stimulation while holding
prices at 2007 level
Date: 11/28/2007
Independence, Ore – Employee-owned Marquis Spas®
is going against the current with the
launch of its 2008 product line. While the pool
and spa industry’s economic downturn
continues, Marquis is adding a plethora of
visual stimulation to its already high quality products
while holding prices essentially the same as in
2007.
“In an economic downturn, you basically have two
choices. You either hunker down and wait
for things to improve or you keep innovating and
moving forward,” said Marquis’ President and
CEO John Schrenk. “At Marquis, we are moving
full steam ahead. We’ve never had products
that are so visually appealing. And, best of
all, we’ve managed to add an abundance of features
to our 2008 products without raising our prices.
You’ll be hard pressed to find other spa
manufacturers who aren’t raising prices for
2008.”
Marquis Spas’ new features include the Adagio
TM
Audio
System. Adagio adds an AM/FM/CD
dimension to the spa experience. And, best of
all, it’s iPod and MP3 player ready. The system
comes with one-touch pop-up speakers that can
rotate to direct the sound and a remote
control for added convenience. Marquis Spas will
still offer its Soundsations
TM
Audio
System.
The Constellation
TM
Light
System is also new. Constellation features lights placed below
the
waterline, as well as exterior lights that make
the surrounding environment glow. It even has a
“disco” function for bathers in a party mood.
In addition to the current waterfall and
convenience tray, Marquis has added a new oval
waterfall feature that spouts a perfectly smooth
stream of water. Other additions include
cushioned headrests made of flexible PVC and new
stainless steel jets. And Marquis’
DuraWood synthetic exterior cabinet can now be
ordered in a horizontal version on 2008
products.
To draw on the strength of the Marquis Spas’
name, all previous sub-brands and lines have
been eliminated. Instead the spa manufacturer is
introducing three collections. There’s a
Marquis Discovery Collection with basic
essential features and various a-la-carte options, a
Marquis Signature Collection with the most
popular features as standard equipment and a
Marquis Ultimate Collection for the consumer who
wants it all. This streamlining allows Marquis
to provide all models in a lower price
configuration while still leaving the consumer the ability to
customize every model in the 2008 line-up.

“Streamlining our product line has, as strange
as it may sound, allowed us to be more flexible,”
said Schrenk. “The consumer can get exactly what
they want at the price point they need. It
has also allowed us to substantially increase
our warranty coverage, making it much stronger.
We think it’s good news all around for the
consumer.”
Marquis Spas’ 2008 product line was shown
internationally at the Piscina Show in Barcelona,
Spain, in October. It will be shown in its
entirety for the first time in the U.S. at the International
Pool & Spa Expo in Orlando, Florida, November
28-30.
