Arctic Spas Polar Bears Compete in Pentathlon

June 25, 2007

Thorsby, AB - June 25, 2007 - Five Arctic Spas office staff
participated in the 25th Annual Leduc Trek, a recreational event
hosted by the City of Leduc on June 24 at Wm. F. Lede Park and the
Black Gold Centre. Families and mixed teams competed in a pentathlon
of swimming (250m), canoeing (500m), walking (1.5km), running (3km),
and cycling (5km). Kids' teams had scaled-down distances.

"It's a fun event to get people active and out-of-doors," said event
organizer Jeannie Oliver of Leduc's Recreation Department. "It's
fantastic to have 16 teams and 82 individuals participating this year."

The Arctic Spas Polar Bears, consisting of Nathan Gray (IT), Tom Gray
(Communications), Stephanie Mitty (Marketing), Ray Savage (HR
Manager), and Judy Terry (CAD) finished at 51:14, about ten minutes
behind the winners but only seconds off their estimated time of
52:00. Photo shows Ray (center) coming in at the finish of the run,
flanked by Becky (Nathan's wife) and Tom.

The day finished off with pizza and other snacks, draws for door
prizes, and presentation of the trophies. The Polar Bears proved
lucky in the draws, with Nathan, Tom, and Ray winning door prizes.

Last year's Polar Bear team came first of six teams with a time of
45:39. Owner James Keirstead, who was part of the '06 team, was off
running a triathlon of his own in Edmonton on the 24th.
