Jacuzzi Executive and Artesian Founder Joins the Cal Spas Team

POMONA, CALIF. - July 20, 2007 - Cal Spas, the number-one global manufacturer of home-resort products, announces today the appointment of James “Jim” C. Ferguson to the position of global vice president of sales and marketing. Ferguson brings to the company 26 years of experience in leadership positions within the spa industry, he is best known for his role as co-founder of Artesian Spas and for the launch of Jacuzzi when the brand was turned over to Sundance in 2001.

Ferguson joins Cal Spas from his most recent post at Jacuzzi, where he served as director of business development from 2006 through this July for Jacuzzi’s spa division. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic direction of sales and marketing. Ferguson also served at Jacuzzi from 2001 to 2005 as director of business development, where he was responsible for the creation and execution of a strategic plan to redesign all Jacuzzi hot tubs, from Jacuzzi whirlpool bath and launch the brand as part of the current Jacuzzi brands spa division. Between his roles with Jacuzzi, Ferguson co-founded Apex Outdoor Products, the maker of synthetic gazebo and aftermarket accessories for Jacuzzi brands.

In the seven years prior to Jacuzzi, Ferguson co-founded and served as president of Artesian Spas, where he was personally responsible for establishing the Artesian Spas dealer network and for the design of the Gold and Silver line of spas. Ferguson sold his shares of Artesian in May 1997, but continued to represent the company in the Western US and internationally through 2001.

A resident of Orange, Calif., Ferguson holds a BA in Business Administration from Haywood University in Texas. He is also a certified ski instructor.
