I’m very new to the world of hot tubs. My wife and I got our tub about six weeks ago. We’re a young healthy couple and we can’t keep our hands off each other when we’re in the tub. My question is regarding water chemistry. I’m going to be blunt but this is a serious question. What affect does sex have on water chemistry? What affect does semen and everything else that’s involved with making love in the tub have on the water chemistry?
We try and be careful but...
I’ve been changing the water sometimes twice in a week.
It’s a brand new Arctic Spa tub with an ozinator system. Will these kinds of fluids be filtered and killed by the chemicals or do I have to stop being intimate with my wife in the hot tub?
I apologize for posting such a question my first time here but I’ve googled the question and I get are links to porn sites and information about hot tubs and their affect on sperm.
Thanks,
MDW!

Not a crazy question at all it really doesnt impact your chemistry at all. Its no worse than the lotions and perfumes women have on their bodies. When you do have your "quality time" in the tub just either increase the dose of chlorine after you get out of the tub if you are using granules or simply shock your tub after and give your filter a quick rinse the next day. Dont worry about changing your water either. Thats dictated by TDS levels.

Thanks for the information. I’d never urinate in my hot tub. I pretty much considered all bodily fluids to be equal. That’s why I was changing out the water. I always shock the water and run the tub through a two-hour filtration cycle after we use it. I’ll also start pulling and rinsing out the filter.
Anyway thanks for putting my mind at ease. I very much enjoy spending “quality” time with my wife “in” our hot tub. I would have been very disappointing to learn that had to end.
