Pentair Intellichlor Problems

We had our pool installed and were swimming by 8/1/07. We had the Pentair Intellichlor installed. Everything was running fine but by 9/1 the "cell" light was flashing green. This is supposed to indicate that the cell needs to be cleaned. We inspected the cell and found it perfectly fine. We contacted our pool builder and they told us they would come out and install a new one(they are not familiar enough with the unit). That was done on 9/3. Everything was running fine...our chlorine level is where it should be and the salt level is fine. (we test it with the salt strips...it is at 3502)Our PH is at 8.0 and we keep adding the PH Minus to get it down. Now yesterday 9/22 the cell light started flashing AGAIN!! Again we inspected the cell and it is as clean as a whistle! Are we doing something wrong? I want to avoid having the pool company come out and install a new one...I find it hard to believe that we have had 2 faulty units. Can someone please help???

Thanks

Please don't ask how I know this, but the ONLY IC units that can be re-calibrated are the ver. 1.6. IF you have one of those, you need to contact Pentair, those will be replaced with ones that do not need calibration.

To clean the units, you need to take them off the line, shoot a high pressure garden hose through there, both directions. IF you get ANY kind of scale off, I would recommend an acid wash. You really do not need the cleaning kit, a rubber band and freezer bag works too. Just close off one end of the cell, set it up on that end so that the unit is vertical, not laying flat. Pour the chemical mixture in the cell, MAKING SURE YOU COVER THE FLOW GAUGE, let sit 5 minutes, or so, and pour out and rinse with hose. If you do not cover the flow gauge, piece that hangs down on one end, then you are not cleaning the tiny salt sensor in the cell. This can lead to the green flashing.

Just wondering if anybody had issues with white debris coming out of return lines? we use three different kinds of salt chlorination systems and we are only having problems with the intellichlor systems. Also having problems with the lights on the intellichlor not functioning properly.
