We are looking into getting our first HT and one thing we would like to do is use it during the summer months. Living here in Atlanta we do have some warm summers but will we really use this feature? The HT will be primarily in the shade.
We did look at the Jacuzzi 480 today and man is that a nice looking HT. But at 15K its more than we would like to spend. One of my primary concerns/annoyances with HT is noise and vibration. The 480 seems to be very quite. Another thing I really liked was the fully enclosed bottom. Who else builds likes this? They had Bullfrogs also which did have an enclosed bottom but they didn't look any where as well made. But I know little from one day of shopping.

Curt,
I'll go one better than that. I know the folks Headnsouth was shopping with: Georgia Hot Tub Company ( http://www.georgiaspacompany.com/ ) They carry both Jacuzzi and Bullfrog Spas.
Headnsouth,
Ask George Hot Tub which is the better built spa? Which spa is not a wood frame, has a near leak-proof design and the stronger warranty? It's not the 15K model you reference. In fact, if you took the most expensive Bullfrog Spa and added every option you would not be at $15K. I think you will also find that the Bullfrog is just as quiet as the Jacuzzi.
Be sure to wet test both of them. Construction is very important, particularly as a spa ages, but so is your experience in the spa.
If you want some more detailed information on warranties and buying the best hot tub, allow me to suggest reviewing this information we have on our website.

Regarding Hot and Cold Spa: There is a company that makes a spa with a cooler. You can find information in this forum about them. My guess is you will decide not to go there. Also, there is a trick you can use with any hot tub that is rather effective in lowering your water temperature quite a bit even in hot weather. Place a tennis ball under each corner of your cover. Evaporation requires considerable energy. Breaking the "seal" on your cover allows evaporation to occur. Since even the hottest areas cool considerably by early morning, you will find that this drops your water termperature quite effectively.
Hope all of this helps with your decision.
Bill

Bill, thx for your response, you hit the nail on the with GHT. I really appreciated the time and effort you put into your guides, they are very informative. We will be going back to GHT and also to look at the Sundance line in Alpharetta.
Great tip with the tennis balls.

Hi Headnsouth:
In short, yes you will use it. The Atera AnyTemp Spa gives you the ability to set the temperature of your spa to YOUR perfect temperature 365 days a year regardless of outdoor temperature, much like the thermostat in your home. Check our website at http://www.ateraspas.com, especially customer referrals. If you like we can arrange for you to speak with other happy clients in your area.
The Atera AnyTemp Spa does include a circulation system as its primary filtration. They are very quiet. The bottom is fully enclosed with ABS plastic to avoid any type of insect or rodent infestation.
Additional features that may be of interest:
1. Cabinet made of recycled milk bottles, virtually indestructable, lifetime warranty. 2. All natural, hypoallergenic enzyme sanitation system requires no harmful chemicals. Saves water, much less maintenance. Use results in lifetime jet warranty. 3. Solid support base system and 2x4 pressure treated lumber frame requires no concrete pad, just a flat level surface. 4. Ultimate power jets provide the best massage on the market.
There are many additional features plus helpful information on our website. We hope to have the opportunity to earn your business. At factory direct prices you will save thousands of dollars.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact us at 623-334-3999 any day except Monday.

Hi Headnsouth,
I'm glad you found our guides helpful.
You may already know, but Sundance is owned by Jacuzzi. Both brands are actually built in the same factory in Chino, CA. Though they use distinctly different molds, their warranties are identical and there is virtually no difference in their construction.

You know, I have had my spa for a while now here in Phoenix, I keep it around 80 in the summer and 101 in the winter, I have friends w Hot Tubs only, I dont know why people buy a hot tub in hot climates, doesnt make much sense to me.
Its wierd that people are so negitive to other products, Obviously people can see that people on here are trying to sell their brand and bad mouth another.
Apparently when you have something that works great others have to put it down. I own an Atera Anytemp spa and absolutely love it!!!
It does cost me about $25 bucks a month in the summer to run the cooler but its well worth it!!

Mark,
I'm glad to hear that you enjoy your Atera hot tub. Might I ask you to do us a favor?
Atera steadfastly refuses to post their warranty even on their own website - and I mean the actual complete full warranty. Since you bought an Atera spa, you have a copy of their warranty. I wish Pool and Spa had a means for you to post it here, but as far as I know they do not have that capability. However would you please scan your warranty and send it to me at bill@premierehottubs.com. I can then include their warranty information in the Warranty Summary we provide to all at our website at: http://www.premierehottubsofaustin.com/Hot-Tub-Shopping-Guides-v-86.html .
Bill
PS: Mr. Spa, If there is a means for Mark to post the Atera warranty here, please post the method to do so. Thanks
