Greetings,
Empty nest couple looking to purchase our first spa. Looking for a small (2-3 people) dependable unit, preferably without a lounge. Spa will be located in a corner section on an enclosed porch with a concrete floor. The corner space measures 86" x 86" (wall to wall). How much room is needed around the spa for servicing needs?
Any recommendations on specific models would be most helpful. Have dealers in the area for D-1, Hot Springs, Sundance, Jacuzzi, Marquis, and Caldera. Looking forward to any feedback. Thanks.

This site seems to have relevant information for would-be-buyers, if you are lucky enough to receive a reply. I guess my listing of local dealers did not contain a specific brand name to warrant a response from those on this site who have the expertise and/or actually sell spas.
Does anyone have any insight on the amount of space recommended between the side panel of the spa and wall? How much space is needed?

I recommend you take a look at a Jacuzzi J-315. Its a small hot tub that seats 3 adults but feels like much more. The small Jacuzzi J-315 hot tub is sized for compact spaces, this small portable hot tub fits through standard doorways for easy delivery and set up yet provides spacious interior seating. The Jacuzzi J-315 is proof that small spas don't have to be small in features, and the same quality innovation built into every Jacuzzi hot tub is available in the J-315, making it a very attractive possibility for those looking for the ideal small hot tub. I hope I was some help to you. For more information on Jacuzzi Hot Tubs feel free to ask at: http://hottub.indulgemedia.ca

Marappl...
You really can't go wrong with a Hot Springs Solana or a Caldera Aventine. They are great quaility spas that fit perfect in any corner. The Jacuzzi is nice, but I believe that is a rectangular spa that would take up more room.
There is also a very nice corner spa that dreammaker sells called the Fantasy..In my area they sell these spas also at Rec Warehouse but they changed the name to the Trident.

Hi. I'm definitely all about HotSpring hot tubs. I have the Envoy, but have tested the Vista and the Jetsetter. I think for a smaller corner unit, the Jetsetter is perfect. They run around $4000.00, which isn't bad. It seats 3, but wouldn't take up the full 86x86". You can check out all of the HotSpring hot tub models online and then find a dealer near you that carries your model.
Hope you find the right hot tub!

Thanks to all for the information. I have looked at the Jacuzzi J-315, it is avery nioe tub.
Wanted to look at the Jetsetter, but my local HS dealer doesn't carry it in stock; but he will be happy to order me one sight unseen (yeah, right).
Anyone have any info on the Sundance Capri?

Really, Now a days, Small bathtubs are becoming increasingly popular with homeowners.Water-jet whirlpools are still an economical option that many homeowners can have in their bathrooms. A water jet sucks in water and shoots it back, creating stronger blasts through fewer and larger openings, and causing some bathers to scurry away.

Marappl,
I did not initially reply because you indicated a desire for a non-lounge spa. However since you have spoken positively of the Jacuzzi 351, which is a lounge spa, I'll add my advice.
Jacuzzi, Hot Spring, Caldera, and Sundance are all good spas; however they do not represent the best. If you have a Bullfrog Spas dealer anywhere near you (and I note that you did not indicate this), I would strongly advise taking a look at their 131, 231, or 331 spas. (They are all the same shell mold, hence same size.) These are the same width as the J-315, though they are 6" longer. Not only does Bullfrog have superior construction, their design makes them well-suited for constricted installations. The 131 is $4,495 (here is a link to it: http://www.premierehottubsofaustin.com/m...=view_album.php ). I don’t know where hottublover lives, but here in Austin, you are not going to find a JetSetter for $4,000.
Hope this helps.

Since you are not looking for a corner unit and are leaning towards a 3 seater, you should give the Caldera dealer a shot. There 3-person model is called the Kaui. Very comfortable with great power... Good luck

Thanks for the information. I have been doing heavy research via the Web. I have seen the Bullfrog name mentioned, but unfortunately the nearest dealer is 350+ miles away.
