Water clarity issues.

Any ideas? Water clarity issues. I have a 2009 Sundance Optima and use chlorine. I watch the PH closely, use chlorine after each use, stain and scale weekly, and shock every other week. I use the spa 4-5x week mostly on my own. I have cleaned it twice in 6 months to see if it helped. I clean the filters monthly. The ozonator seems to be working as evidence by the control panel and other indicators however the dealer says there is no way to know for sure. The chlorine does disappear the day after application which is suppose to be an indicator that the ozonator is working. I just started using bright and clear once per week. After use the water is crystal clear. A couple of days later it is slightly cloudy but the ph is fine. After the bright and clear the water is great. How do I keep it this way? The only thing I can think of is that I might be using too much chlorine. Could this be the cause of the problem? Open to any suggestions. Thanks.

You can see if your ozonator is working by capturing bubbles from it in a cup and then smell it -- it should have the familiar electrical smell of ozone.
If you you are only Dichlor as your source of chlorine, then you will build up Cyanuric Acid (CYA) in the water making the chlorine less effective and this can lead to cloudiness. You can use the Dichlor-then-bleach method described here.
If you didn't have an ozonator, then every person-hour of soaking would need around 3-1/2 teaspoons of Dichlor or 5 fluid ounces of 6% bleach or 7 teaspoons of non-chlorine shock (43% MPS) to get rid of bather waste (mostly ammonia and urea from sweat and urine).

The only thing that comes to mind other than what chem geek says is that you may have phosphates in your water. You might try a phosphate remover. Has anyone in your neighborhood sprayed trees or used a liquid fertilizer on their lawn? This could cause it.

Several things:
First, quite a few issues can cause cloudiness in your spa water so I cannot provide a definitive answer. Phosphates is one of the possibilities.
However there is a test for ozone. It is available from Delozone. It's a bit pricey, but it is available. Delozone also provides a "renewal kit". Your dealer should be able to acquire both of them to assist you. Since your spa is a 2009, I would certainly expect the ozonator to be operating properly, but most of them will not be working after 3 - 5 years.
I would recommend you use bromine, rather than chlorine to sanitize your spa. Quite a few reasons including it is a better sanitizer than chlorine, is relatively insensitive to pH changes (chlorine is sensitive), and lasts much longer at the higher temperatures in spa water.
There is no direct relationship between your chlorine level and your ozonator working, however indirectly ozone will take some of the load off the chlorine so indirectly it would actually help maintain your chlorine level. BTW, ozone is not a sanitizer, though many often sell it as such. Ozone will oxidize waste products in your water hence will help with water clarity, but bromine (or chlorine) is your sanitizer, killing bacteria and viruses.

Test the water or have your water tested at your professional SUN dealer. If the Free Chlorine level is below 1 ppm or the Combined Chlorine level is more than 0.5 ppm above the Free Chlorine reading, shock using SUN-Burn® Extra or SUN-Burn® 35.
