My Hotspring Jetsetter is going on 17 years old and has developed a small leak around the light lens which leaks into the equipment compartment. The leak only occurs when the temperature of the water is heated, when cold there is no leak. I have previously tried to seal around the lens from inside the tub with no success. I have done some research on the Internet and it looks as if I have no choice other than removing the lens and replacing it but it emphasis that extensive care should be taken on removing the old lens to not crack the tub. Can anyone advise the best approach to repairing this.

Thank you

It's not hard at all to replace a lens. Pry the edges with a chisel (yes, be careful not to crack the shell) most older lenses will pop right off. Then I use a dremel with a sanding attachment to sand the old glue and make it smooth. Dry fit the new lens and then glue it on using Devcon from a HotSpring dealer.

Now that the lens is removed and sanded/ground off the cement so that the area is flush with the tub finish. Do I need to remove every last particle of cement and if so can I use acetone or what would you recommend.? Also need a good source for purchasing a replacement lens and what type of Devcon epoxy will it need to bond properly.

Thanks

Go to your nearest home depot, I'm not sure about the epoxy. You can also remove the ground off the cement. We have been involved with repairs, equipment replacement, and the design and execution of customized systems.

What is the type of Devcon needed for sealing the lens, there are numerous types of Devcon available and I'm not sure which one is needed for sealing the lens properly.
