I'm hoping there is someone out there to help us. We have wet tested 3 spas already Hot Springs, Jacuzzi and Baja. It seems like we like the Jacuzzi and Baja the best. The Hot Springs had too much water in their tub so not sure if that was in fact a good test. I floated as well as in the Jacuzzi due to a over filled tub. We are needing some in put as to what is really the best spa? The foam around the tub, The Baja hardly had any it was a black maybe a 1/4 inch pad that really was just a wrap around the outside of the shell before the cabinet went on. It seems to us like that would not help hold the heat in. Please any in put would be helpful as we feel like we are out of our zone here.

A hot tub/ spa that is not properly insulated can cost up to 5 times as much to heat. A good spa should have complete foam insulation from shell to skirt. Most manufacturers will cheat out on insulation, filtration, or jet placement in order to create a cheat, easy on the eye spa, which is great at first, but once it is tried and tested, many will not meet up with the quality of a good manufacturer. Although their prices are high, SUNDANCE SPAS are rated number 1 in relaxation, filtration, and comfort, as a consumer you must realize you plan to have this tub for the next 15 years, pay the extra little bit, for the peace of mind of a sundance or similar hot tubs. Check out their website to get an idea of what a good hot tub should have even if they might be out of your price range. http://www.sundancespas.com HOPE IT HELPS!

Dr. Spa,
I think you are being a bit tough on the previous replier. Of course he sells Sundance. He didn't say it outright, but I think everyone will get it. Might be nice if he would say so in his profile though by including his website.
Some things he says are true, some are not. Sundance is among the most expensive spas (actually made by Jacuzzi, by the way). Rated #1? - I think many would say differently, but the more important thing to know is that there are NO INDEPENDENT reviews of hot tubs available. All the “reviewers” also take advertising money. If you study all these reviews (as I have) you see some rather odd issues – Like, where are all of the 1, 2, 3, and 4 star hot tubs? How is it that they are all 5 Stars or not listed?
Nejame also continues the common myth about Full-foam.
However that all said, Sundance is one of the top brands, with one of the best warrantees (not the best, but one of the best).
I sell both Bullfrog Spas and Clearwater Spas, and I would suggest to Jules that they also deserve his consideration when purchasing a great hot tub.
Also on the issue of floating in the lounge. I doubt that had anything to do with an overfilled hot tub. Likely had more to do with the shape of the lounge.
Finally, regarding Baja Spas. I am VERY leery of companies that do not list their warrantees on their website. Not only does Baja not list their warranty, even their spa manual does not note their warranty (assuming you want to take the time to download this). My opinion would be to stay away from Baja Spas.
