Looking at purchasing a new SPA

I am in the market for a new spa. I've owned one before but it was about 12 years ago. I looked at Rec Warehouse but for some reason didn't feel like they had quality products except for the Caldera line they had. Even so, they told me I needed to be looking at Leisure Bay instead of the Caldera which I thought was odd. Why would a sales person steer me towards a cheaper Spa?
Anyway, I have now narrowed it down to The HotSpring Envoy and the Jacuzzi J-480. To you seasoned pros out there..... What do you think of these two spas and what should I pay for them? Are there any other brands I should look at?

"Why would a sales person steer me towards a cheaper Spa? "
More profit in the cheaper spa perhaps.

Just remember that while your looking for a spa, it's also equally important WHO you're buying the spa from. Do some research on the Jacuzzi and HotSpring dealer in your neighborhood first..
Now, Rec Warehouse is owned by Leisure Bay. They are partnered also with Watkins therefore some stores have Caldera (which you already know) and some stores carry Hot Springs. You are correct about the Leisure Bay spa. It is a Honda compared to the Hot Spring being a Mercedes. However, the one advantage with Rec Warehouse is that you know there not going anywhere. They are located in Orlando so service would be easy to Georgia..
And Dr. Spa is correct...being the manufacturer of the Leisure Bay's, the profit is higher. Unfortunatly, with you looking at a Hot Spring and Jacuzzi, both dealers are buying from the manufacturer and selling to you, creating a middleman. Your best bet would find a Rec Warehouse near you that sold Hot Springs. You would get a better price than the "local dealer" because they buy more Watkins spas for there other locations, not just one.

I agree with Rec Warehouse - we have had 2 employees from there and heard some pretty good stories (or bad). Wet test these spas if you can. All 3 will feel different from each other. I have sold and worked on all 3 and in my opinion I would rank them: HotSpring, Jacuzzi, Sundance. Jacuzzi & Sundance have merged, so many parts on them are the same. You are choosing wisely because I believe these choices are the 3 top sellers in the world. Curt is right, the dealer is definitely a priority - good service after the sale is a real positive. IMO the most important is your comfort in the spa.
