I wet tested a used spa, it was in tip top shape for only $1,000.00. It was a Tiger Bengal Spa by Hotsprings. Hotsprings spas are good spas but I found the jet stream was not as powerful as I like when I wet tested new spas at the dealer. However; I did not buy it because the jets were not powerful enough. It was a good soaking tub but I have a bad back and need a powerful forceful jet stream hitting my back muscles.

Do you recommend a spa that has a forceful jet stream?

I'm surprised you thought the Jetstream jet wasn't powerful enough. It should have been just as powerful as the new one. It could have been that the diverter wasn't in the full position or the filter was clogged enough to slow the flow.

Too bad you didn't bought it that was quite a good offer for a Tiger Bengal Spa anyways you can fixed such jet steamers if they won't work fine for you but I think it is still in good condition it just needs several enhancements

Hot Springs has 5 brands , including both Hot Springs itself and Tiger River. The Bengal spa is part of their Tiger River line. In addition to the possibility of clogged filters, it may be that the jets in the used Bengal spa are weaker because it has a 115V motor rather than the more commonly sold 230V motor. As noted below (from the Tiger River website) the 115V motor produces 1.65 continuous HP (the true power) while the 230V pump produces 2.5 continuous HP. In other words the 230V pump is 50% more powerful.

Control System
Convertible IQ 2020; 115v/20 amp, (includes G.F.C.I.
protected power cord. Or 230v/50 amp, 60Hz)**
Heater
Convertible No-Fault (1500w/115v or 6000w/230v)
Jet Pump
Convertible Wavemaster 7000
(1.65 HP Continuous Duty,
3.5 HP Breakdown Torque)

Control System
Dedicated IQ 2020; 230v/50 amp, 60Hz,
(includes G.F.C.I. protected subpanel)
Heater
Dedicated No-Fault (6000w/230v)
Jet Pump
Dedicated Wavemaster 9200
(Two Speed, 2.5HP Continuous Duty
4.8 HP Breakdown Torque)
Water Feature Amur (backlit with blue LED lighting)

Therapy Jets - very popular hot tub jets, with powerful directional streams. These are easily controllable to give you just the right amount of massage. Turn the outer ring to open or close the jet to control the power, and the nozzle can be adjusted by simply touching it and pointing it to the desired location on your body

The 230V Bengal will have slightly better jet pressure however, the diverter in the 230V model only has 2 positions while the 115V has 4. You have more jets on at the same time with the larger pump. So yes it may be 50% more powerfull but it's not 50% more pressure.
The Jetstream jet doesn't adjust by turning the outer collar, the other jets do.

Hopefully you've found a great spa and are soaking already.

It sounds like you are looking for a used spa so I don't know if this will help. I have a 2009 Sundance Optima. There are two seats where the jets are so powerfull I get pushed off. I'm 6'1 225 pounds and have a hard time staying in the seat. This isn't with all the other jets off and all the power on my seat either. I barely notice any power loss with all the other jets going. The only thing I have a hard time with is the seat depth because of my height. There is only one seat where my shoulders are almost under water. Luckly its my favorite seat. The head rests are pretty much useless when sitting upright. I found this true with all the other brands I tested.

We started to look at used spas as well but didn't like not knowing what we were buying. Our tub cost more than my first 3 cars combined but it is the best purchase we ever made. I'm only 36 and already have arthritis and a bad back because of sports. I use it almost every night for 15 minutes or so and can feel the aches and pains melt away. Keep on searching for the right tub, it will be worth the wait. Good luck.
