Also, this websites pool covers are like 100$ less than pool stores around me in upstate New york. How is that possible.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

just measure across your pool 24' is a common size the cover is sized to fit the pool ie. a 24' cover is actually 26' so that you can over lap it and cinch the cable. make sure to get a good cover usually they are in two grades 8yr and 10 yr go for the better cover it wont last 10 years but it will give you better results.

also think about an Aqua Door for your skimmer it lets you winterize your pool without draining and keeps the water higher and keeps the strain off the cover.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Here are some guidelines to help you get the size of your pool.
Hope this helps. =)

Safety covers have become more popular every year because they provide unmatched protection, security and bang for the buck. If your pool is anything other than a rectangle you're stuck with using an outside contractor to measure your pool for a proper fitting safety cover. This article will show how to do this job, save money and increase the options for purchasing a high quality safety cover for your pool.

To do the job you will need chalk, paper and pencil or pen and measuring tape long enough to stretch the longest dimension of your pool.

1) Begin by sketching a diagram of your pool and fill in length and width from measurements taken at this time. Next, take a piece of chalk and mark two points A and B on the side of the pool 3 to four feet away from the edge and roughly in the middle of the longest side of the pool. Don’t let an imaginary line between the two points cross the pool at any point. Mark the two points on your sketch and measure the distance between the two points and include that on the sketch as well.

2) Find the center point of your AB line and make a mark, numbered one, on the inside edge of the pool at that point. Continuing around the pool, make a chalk mark every three feet (doesn’t have to be exact) around the perimeter of the pool numbering them consecutively. Any immovable objects, ladders, rock formations, slides etc., should get a chalk mark as well. These obstructions should be assigned numbers after all numbered marks are assigned on the pool perimeter itself. This also applies to any permanent obstruction within 18 inches of the pool.

3) When finished marking the pool you will need an assistant. One person will hold the tape measure at point A while the other measures the distance between each point around the pool from point A. The distance to each point should be recorded next to the numbered mark in a column headed “A measurements”. Measure and record the obstruction points last. Repeat the procedure from point B. When complete each numbered mark will have a corresponding measured distance from both point A and point B.

4) To finish, select three or four diagonal measurements across the pool’s length and width and record these measurements while marking the placement and distance on your initial sketch.

It’s done! With the measurements and sketch you can shop anywhere for a custom safety cover and be assured that it will be made accurately. To make matters even simpler, many on-line pool sites offer a downloadable measuring form. Just print it out and fill it in and your ready to shop.
