Hello,
This Friday I am looking at a Vita hot tub for sale, less than a month old, that I found on craigslist. It is being sold for about half the price of a new one...I've been wondering why so cheap until I read about their parent company filing Chapter 11...Any update on their state of affairs? And should I pass on this brand all together considering their bankruptcy? Thanks for any and all comments!

I would like to make others aware of my recent purchase of a new Vita Spa Joli series 700. I purchased the unit on July 3rd at a hot tub show and sale in Canada and still do not have a fully functional tub. I have had 4 service calls replacing the main board 3 times, the heater, and I have two leaks that the factory attempted to fix with silicone. The retailer says it the factories responsibility to repair and so I have had to launch a court case. I heard they were a top manufacture but unfortunately hard financial times have seem to hurt them. My advise if the tub was built after March of this year stay away because the quality and customer service have fallen apart.

I purchased an Essence Vita Spa in April 2005. Let me tell you I've had so many issues starting 1 month after install. I have had the following replaced: - 3 power boards - 4 lighting boards - 2 display units - 1 lower sensor - 1 heat sensor - 1 extra ground added - Right speaker not working (radio now is junk) - Disconnected the ozonater - Disconnected the radio - Disconnected the lights numerous times The reason for the above was to figure out why my spa would stop working and display an error message. I live in Michigan and keep it running in the winter. I had to check the hot tub every single day to make sure it wasn't shut off. I never would have thought when going out of town I would have to find a babysitter for my hot tub, but that is what I had to do.
Neither DM Industries nor my dealer would replace my spa. After the first year, both acknowledged that it was a defect in the design and if they could just do one more thing! I got sick of hearing one more thing....When pressed, DM Industries said you have to work with your dealer on getting a replacement and the dealer said I would have to work with DM Industries. Neither wanted to help make things right. I asked for a replacement or a refund. I've gotten neither. I will NEVER recommend a Vita Spa or the dealer I bought it from. I have yet to get the radio replaced. This spa has been a nightmare. I am interested to see what happens with DM Industries.

Well its been now 10 days since I served the retailer and not one word. I am glad you posted your story because I will fight to the end for a refund.
I'll keep you posted. I can imagine the hell you have lived through..........I dont think its the market that will kill them but the poor service to their customers.
