I purchased a Vita Spa 2 years ago in JAX, FL. Had a few issues with the spa during that time, but it's functioning okay at present. Like others, my concern is about future service and my warranty. The service guy up here, who has now formed his own service company, gave me the phone number to Maax Spa (480-895-0598) and I called them. Spoke to a Matt Egeto at Maax Spa and he said it was an asset only purchase and that Maax Spa would not be honoring pre-existing Vita warranties. I guess they have no legal obligation, but the irony is, by screwing us over on the warranties, they're de-valuing the very name they just purchased. I for one won't be going back to buy Vita or Maax Spas.

Well said about not purchasing any Maax Spa product in future. I tell everyone I know not to buy and so far have cost them 3 sales. I feel so cheated and will continue to ensure that the Max and my retailer suffer from future business and try to make sure other hear my story so no one else gets burned.

Another of lifes long lessons.

You feel cheated?? Perhaps, but MAAX has NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Vita went bankrupt. VITA! Maax simply purchased some of their "assets", AFTER Vita went BANKRUPT. Maax is under no obligation, leagally OR MORALLY to cover ANY warranty issues from a company they had NOTHING to do with.

From my perspective, MAAX would be an EXCELLENT company to do business with. In this economy, for a company to be able to afford the purchase of a bankrupted companies assets, that show a strong company that most likely WILL be around in the future to cover their warranties.
