We ended up getting an off-brand Kreepy type cleaner off of ebay for about $90 and it worked well all summer- occasionally gets hung up on the ladder and fountain, but otherwise has been a good cleaner.

Robotic Automatic Pool Cleaners: These are driven by electric motors inside the unit. The electricity that powers the cleaner comes from a little transformer that you plug into a outdoor GFCI outlet. The transformer converts the outlet electricity to a low voltage which is then connected to the cleaner via a long cord.

Hey Pat,
As Dan said if the corners are rounded then it probably wont get stuck, if they are fairly sharp then it probably will. All cleaners get stuck somewhere, as I said in a previous post, "cleaners are stupid", they don't know they're stuck or that they have cleaned that same spot 10+ times. They stick on ladders, stairs, corners, return jets, or the main drain.
If you see the Kreepy get stuck in the corner of your new pool then just take out a section of hose so it can't reach that corner, that's the best fix we've found for any cleaner that has a tendency to stick in the same place over and over.

I was in the same boat 5 years ago. We bought a place with a pool and the owners left the same cleaner you have for us. It was awful. We have lots of trees and also a slope that dumps yard debris in the pool. Needless to say, it requires lots of work all summer. Last year, I bought the Phantom Turbo pool cleaner and LOVE it. Last summer was the least amount of time I've spent on pool maintenance ever. The reason I bought the Phantom was because it not only does the bottom and sides of the pool, but it also rises to the top and skims the surface. Only problem for me was that I had to add a booster pump, but that didn't cost too much. Good luck.

The G3 Wheel Deflector is a replacement part for the Zodiac Series automatic pool cleaners . Zodiac Automatic Pool Cleaners are powered by the Barracuda Technology. This can be used on both inground and above ground pools. Furthermore, it has the capability to forbid any single particle from escaping.

If anyone is still looking for automatic pool cleaners, I think that they are a great investment. They are a lazy man (or woman's) dream. They are perfect for busy people who do not have a lot of time to devote to cleaning their pool. I have a robotic cleaner for my above ground pool and it is great! It takes so much of the hassel out of cleaning.

I have been servicing pools for 20 years and currently my favorite pool cleaner is "The Pool Cleaner". Very few moving parts, seems to work well in any pool and dosen't get stuck at all.
